A head shot of a young man.

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that what makes great teachers truly thrive is strong, supportive leadership-and at ECA, we are blessed with the very best.

Mrs. Morgan is the definition of what an incredible administrator should be-fair, honest, loyal, and always willing to stand up and fight for her team. Knowing we have someone so steadfast in our corner makes all the difference.

Beyond her leadership, Mrs. Morgan is a master seamstress, a Disney lover, and a amazing mother and YAYA.

Thank you, Mrs. Morgan, for always being authentically you and for pouring so much into ECA.

With all our love,
Your ECA Team ❤️

The Elba Career Academy would like to extend a sincere thank you to Mr. Allen Burgess for speaking to Mrs. Wright’s class today. Mr. Burgess shared valuable insight on the banking side of financial literacy as our students prepare for their upcoming exam next week.

All Alabama students enrolled in Career Preparedness are required by law to take the Alabama Financial Literacy Exam, and opportunities like this make a meaningful impact on their readiness and understanding.

We are especially grateful to Mr. Burgess not only for investing in our students’ success, but also for his continued support as a member of the ECA Business Department Advisory Council.

Thank you for your dedication to our students.

Big congratulations to Anthony Hudson and Colton Senn.

These two students have earned their NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Core Certificates through our Electrical Technology class at The Elba Career Academy. We are especially proud to share that they are the first students from ECA to earn this certification, as this is the first year the Electrical Technology program has been offered.

This achievement represents more than just a certificate. It is a College and Career Readiness Indicator and demonstrates to future employers that Anthony and Colton have a strong foundation in safety, hand and power tools, construction math, materials handling, construction drawings, rigging, and essential employability skills.

They are setting the standard for future students and building a strong foundation for success in the skilled trades. Congratulations, Anthony and Colton. Your hard work is making an impact.

MEET THE ECA PRINCIPAL My name is Christina Morgan, and I have proudly served the students attending Elba City Schools since January of 2005. I was originally hired as a Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) teacher, and from the very beginning I knew I had found the place where I was meant to be. Helping students discover their talents, prepare for their futures, and grow into confident young adults has been one of the greatest blessings of my career. Over the years, I have been fortunate to serve Elba City Schools in several roles. In 2010, I became the Career Technical Director, working to expand opportunities for students to gain real-world skills and career preparation. In 2015, I also took on the role of Child Nutrition Director and in 2020, I added the responsibility of Testing Coordinator, helping oversee the assessment programs that support student growth and achievement. I also served as the Attendance Coordinator for several years, working closely with families to keep students engaged and successful in school. Today, I am honored to serve as the Principal of the Elba Career Academy, where I continue to focus on preparing students for life beyond high school through meaningful career and technical opportunities. Career and Technical Education, and the Career Technical Service Organizations associated with the Elba Career Academy CTE Programs, have been a huge part of my journey. Through these programs, I have had the privilege of watching students grow into leaders, compete across the state and nation, and discover talents they didn’t know they had. Seeing students succeed and carry those experiences with them into their futures is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Rod, is also Coffee County native who loves this community deeply. Together we have four wonderful daughters, Kaleigh, Kinsley, Caroline, and Ashley, who keep life interesting and full of laughter. We are also the proud grandparents of Mila, Hadley, Payton, and Jack, who make our world brighter and remind us that the best moments in life are often the loudest, messiest, and sweetest ones. My faith is the foundation of my life and guides the way I try to lead, serve, and care for others each day. I believe God places people exactly where they are meant to be, and I am grateful that He placed me in a school and community that I love so much. When I’m not at school, you will often find me sewing, embroidering, or working on projects for my small embroidery business, Red Bird Lane. I also love traveling, spending time with family, and making memories with the people who mean the most to me. And if you know me well, you also know I have a deep love for all things Disney. There’s just something special about a place that celebrates joy, imagination, and a little bit of magic, which is something I try to bring into my work with students every day. Elba is more than just the place where I work, it has become home. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and community of Elba through the Elba Career Academy. It is a privilege to help guide the next generation as they discover their gifts, pursue their dreams, and prepare for the future.

The Elba Career Academy sent JAGCA students and organization officers to the State Leadership Conference, where they participated in workshops and leadership development sessions. These opportunities help students grow their skills, build confidence, and connect with other student leaders from across the state. We are very proud of their hard work and the way they represented the Elba Career Academy.
