MEET THE ECA PRINCIPAL My name is Christina Morgan, and I have proudly served the students attending Elba City Schools since January of 2005. I was originally hired as a Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) teacher, and from the very beginning I knew I had found the place where I was meant to be. Helping students discover their talents, prepare for their futures, and grow into confident young adults has been one of the greatest blessings of my career. Over the years, I have been fortunate to serve Elba City Schools in several roles. In 2010, I became the Career Technical Director, working to expand opportunities for students to gain real-world skills and career preparation. In 2015, I also took on the role of Child Nutrition Director and in 2020, I added the responsibility of Testing Coordinator, helping oversee the assessment programs that support student growth and achievement. I also served as the Attendance Coordinator for several years, working closely with families to keep students engaged and successful in school. Today, I am honored to serve as the Principal of the Elba Career Academy, where I continue to focus on preparing students for life beyond high school through meaningful career and technical opportunities. Career and Technical Education, and the Career Technical Service Organizations associated with the Elba Career Academy CTE Programs, have been a huge part of my journey. Through these programs, I have had the privilege of watching students grow into leaders, compete across the state and nation, and discover talents they didn’t know they had. Seeing students succeed and carry those experiences with them into their futures is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Rod, is also Coffee County native who loves this community deeply. Together we have four wonderful daughters, Kaleigh, Kinsley, Caroline, and Ashley, who keep life interesting and full of laughter. We are also the proud grandparents of Mila, Hadley, Payton, and Jack, who make our world brighter and remind us that the best moments in life are often the loudest, messiest, and sweetest ones. My faith is the foundation of my life and guides the way I try to lead, serve, and care for others each day. I believe God places people exactly where they are meant to be, and I am grateful that He placed me in a school and community that I love so much. When I’m not at school, you will often find me sewing, embroidering, or working on projects for my small embroidery business, Red Bird Lane. I also love traveling, spending time with family, and making memories with the people who mean the most to me. And if you know me well, you also know I have a deep love for all things Disney. There’s just something special about a place that celebrates joy, imagination, and a little bit of magic, which is something I try to bring into my work with students every day. Elba is more than just the place where I work, it has become home. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and community of Elba through the Elba Career Academy. It is a privilege to help guide the next generation as they discover their gifts, pursue their dreams, and prepare for the future.

The Elba Career Academy shout-out for Career Tech Month
Name: Seth Wilcox
Job Title / Role: Welding Teacher
What I Do at the ECA: As a welding teacher I train students in the skills and knowledge needed to safely and successfully work in the welding industry. It’s a mix of hands-on instruction, classroom teaching, and career preparation.
What I Love Most About My Job:
One of the greatest joys of teaching welding is showing students something completely new and watching their excitement when they successfully pass their very first weld plate. It’s also rewarding to see the friendly competitions that naturally develop as students encourage each other and push themselves to improve their skills.
One Piece of Career Advice I Always Share:
If you don’t show up on time and do your job, it doesn’t matter how skilled you are - an employer won’t keep you. I would rather hire an average welder who is dependable and works hard than the world’s best welder who is always late and barely works when clocked in. Your work ethic says a lot about the kind of person you are.
Fun Fact About Me:
I have been on nine mission trips across five different countries.
Favorite Hobbies / Interests Outside of Work:
Going to church, spending time with my family, building projects, and gardening.
Favorite Quote or Motto:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:13

Meet the Staff!

Name: Mrs. Rachel Foster

Job Title / Role: CTE School Counselor at The Elba Career Academy

What I Do at the ECA: As the Career and Technical Education School Counselor, I partner with students and families to navigate dual enrollment and course scheduling; set and refine career, academic, and social goals; and create individualized pathways to reach these goals. I coordinate resources, connect learners with postsecondary and career opportunities, and provide ongoing guidance so each student can make informed choices and succeed.

What I Love Most About My Job: My favorite thing about my job is that I get to have conversations with students who are passionate about their future careers. Sometimes they have an idea but need help to connect where they are to where they want to be, and helping them solve that puzzle is so rewarding.

One Piece of Career Advice I Always Share: Have a plan, but be flexible--you never know where an opportunity will take you.

Fun Fact About Me: Fun is so subjective, so take your pick! I got to travel to Finland to present at an international conference in 2023. I work at a polling location every election day. I have been to the When We Were Young music festival in Las Vegas twice (and got married there one of those times). I have twin nephews who were born a week after my baby in July.

My Favorite Hobby / Interest Outside of Work: Recently, I've been learning to crochet.
